New sewing project

This little lady looks young,
pink cheeks and bright eyes,
not a wrinkle to be found.

She is a sharp dresser
but her clothes have become tattered and torn.

How would you feel if you had to wear the same
outfit for about 80 years?

Her clothing is falling to pieces.

This sweet bride has been in her wedding gown
for the past 70 years.

She looks a bit disappointed.
Thats a long time for anyone to wait for a new dress.

Look how tattered her veil is.
How sad.

Help is on the way!
The owner of these two cuties has hired
me to do a remake of their clothing.

Soon they will have some new clothes and
I hope that will make them happy!!

  2. What beautiful old dolls. You will have fun designing and making their new clothes. I can't wait to see them. I was at Kure Beach over the weekend, but only got as far as Shallote when we went thrifting. I wanted to come to your shop, but we did not have time. Hopefully I can get back down again. Love & blessings from NC!

  7. Hi Donna!
Do you still have those dolls? The one with the wedding dress, I was wondering what the markings are on her neck. I have a doll that looks just like her that my mother bought me in NY in the 40's. I had mine cleaned up and a skating skirt put on her. This is what mine had on when she was bought. It looked like the doll you have may have some white on her arms. Mine had some and the arms and legs and a woman that restores doll's bodies cleaned that off.
    Love,
    Marie
