Companies comming...and some mod podge...and hot wax!

The time has been quickly passing and it has
been a while since I have blogged.
So heres the news:
We will be having visitors this week
Ben, Jonette. Kayla & Brett!!

Ben is our third son.
We are excited about their family visiting us this week.
We plan lots of trips to the beach,
some eating at local restaurants,
a day at Ripley's Aquarium and
a dinner & show at Pirates Adventure.

I know you want to see a close up of this little face.
Brett will be 2 years old this week!
We are celebrating here!

Heres a project I worked on this week, too.
This is a very sturdy piece of luggage.
It is also very heavy.
Not the kind you want to take on an airplane
because of how much it will cost in weight fees.

So, I gave it a new look and plan to store teaching
materials in it.
It was a fun project.
I got the gift wrap at Michaels at 75% off
and I had Mod Podge.

It looks good enough to keep out and store my things in it.

This is another project I have been working on for
Christmas gift giving.
I have been pouring candles in cute containers I buy
from the Thrift Store.
This week I poured Pineapple scented candles
in small glass cups from a punch bowl set.

They turned out very cute.

Well, thats all I have for now,  I'll be around to read about
all of your adventures and let you know how the week goes!

I'll try to get back to you soon.

  1. What a cutie. Bet you don't get much done when he's around except give lots of hugs and kisses.

I love the way you transformed the suitcase. It's beautiful. Those candles are really pretty. I see the little glass cups at thrift stores all the time and never thought of pouring candles in them. Thanks for the tip.

  2. I love your transformed suitcase. Mary Englebreit is one of my favorite artists. You did a great job.
I haven't been blogging for awhile but hope to get back to it soon. I enjoy reading your blog. Looks like you've been busy with DVBS, projects and company. Have a great summer.

Hoping to be down for the big flea market in Sept., so will plan to come down and thrift your way. Was down in June, but we didn't go thrifting this time. Love & blessings from NC!
