We are heading for the Hills...

I promised you some pictures of the Mt. house.
I pass Pilot Mountain on the way to "my mountain"
I took this picture in the winter with a dusting of snow on Pilot.
You may remember "Mt. Pilot" from the Andy Griffith show,
well, this is it.

This is our little Mountain home.
We love it there.
We have been cleaning and painting and
finding furniture from local thrift stores
and yard sales.

we are located at the foot of this mountain.

Saura town mountain is it's name.
The entrance to the State Park
is a few miles away from the house.
There are lots of things to do.
Camping, walking trails, zip lines, canoe rides
or tubing down the Dan river.
The view from the front porch.

The view across the street.
We have the sweetest neighbors.
The Lord has truly blessed us in our older
years with so many things to enjoy.
(This little house is just one of them.)

If you are young and want to invest for your retirement,
Invest your life in doing God's work.
Serve the Lord with all your heart, give your time and
your money and your talents to the Lord.

He will give them back many times over.
It's true.
Our little Mountain House is just one of them.

  1. Hi Donna, are you moving to this beautiful location or will be a vacation home? It looks wonderful and I am really happy for you.

and from your other post, who knew an old tv cart with a fresh coat of paint and baskets could look so new and fresh? I will be on the lookout for a similar one, it would be nice in the grands play room here.

    1. Hi Rhonda, Good to see your comment here.
We moved away from this area 10 years ago to the beach.
We continue to visit as 2 of our kids families live in this area still. The others grew up there and have friends and loved ones there, too. We will have a place of our own now, when we visit and vacation, too. It is just a 4 hour drive from the beach and we have been excited to go and work on the house and "find" furniture for it too. God is Good isn't he?

    2. Oh, those TV carts sell for 10.00 in most thrift stores and really look different after you give them some fresh paint.
      I'm enjoying this a lot.
