I worked 46 hours at the Thrift Store
(Remember how I said "three days please?")
A co-worker had to have her gall bladder out.
Another co-worker had to go to upstate NY to settle her parents estate.
So I got in a lot of extra hours.
But I thought you'd find my other project interesting.
The woman bought this trunk from a yard sale.
She has a white iron bed and white wicker furnature in her bedroom.
She wanted this trunk shabby chic'd to fit in with her room.
That is the color she wanted.
I started by sanding and then wiped the trunk down with alcohol.
Let it dry and mixed Kilz white with some acrylic tan until I had the color I wanted.
Then the painting and the drying.
I wiped the paint off while semi-dry and touched up the places that needed it.
Let it dry again.
Then, I used a scrubber (like steel wool) to get some more paint off.
This is the finished product.
I delivered it to her on Friday and she was really happy with it.
She also gave me an antique mirror to do the same thing with.
But, she said there was no rush.
You did a fabulous job! I have an old
ReplyDeletetrunk similar to that and I feel inspired
to work on it now.
Thanks, Donna!
